Heidi Plusczok Dolls
2005 is the 25th Anniversary of Heidi Plusczok Dolls!! The line has been especially designed as a celebration of Heidi's genius as a sculptor and a doll creator.
Heidi has been creating dolls with her magical touch reflecting children’s souls since 1980. She made her first doll out of cernit for her daughter Katja who was then 10 years old. One year later she found herself making her first porcelain dolls. To approach her own style and improve her skills she specialized in portrait dolls. Her love of children provides her with the gift of observation not only of the visible, but the invisible glory of children's souls. Children from the school and pre-school right across from Heidi’s home have inspired her to create many dolls that collectors treasure today in their homes across the world.
Ten years after the beginning of her life as a doll maker, Heidi visited the first Toy Fair in the US. It was quite an ordeal for Heidi to find her way from the airport to her hotel without speaking English. Years later, at another Toy Fair, Heidi met Mrs. Zapf from Zapf Creation, and a very good and long relationship followed during which time Heidi created her own vinyl collections. According to Heidi, the difficulty was in tranferring the porcelain models into vinyl, a difficulty which Heidi quickly and magnificently overcame. Heidi has always enjoyed hand-painting her dolls and creating every aspect of their costumes, featuring the most beautiful fabrics - this is truly Heidi's Magic. Today Heidi is at the top of her game - managing her own company and producing her own dolls. Whether in vinyl or porcelain, Heidi's dolls have met with world-wide acclaim, a bevy of awards and loyal, delighted collectors who flock to her personal appearances.
